FA7: Legends will take place at the Lord Beaverbrook Rink, and will feature 3-4 pro bouts in addition to more amateur bouts, which continue to be added. Zubair was our guest on episode #28 of the podcast and explained what we can expect with Fighting Alliance’s debut in the Port City. Zubair was in charge of growing MMA in Pakistan and in the span of a year, he was able to raise Fighting Alliance from smaller local shows to a national brand with top talent, some of which went on to compete in other promotions like ONE Championship. When asked why Fighting Alliance left Pakistan, and has found a home in Saint John, Zubair, CEO of Impact Sports Productions, told us that “there’s only one way for it to grow, and that’s to take it abroad…Canada is looking for people to promote sports and culture, so here I am.” The card is beginning to take shape, and on the event’s Tapology page, 3 pro fights have already been confirmed. “We’ve got a Brit and we’ve got an Icelander coming over. So they’re gonna hope, if everything goes well, that they’re going to co-main and main the night,” said Asghar. So far, 11-12-3 Declan Williams from England is set to square off with 10-8 Canadian Matthew DiMarcantonio in the main event at featherweight. Co-main is a middleweight bout between 5-1 Aaron Jeffrey taking on 3-2 Diego Bjorn Valencia from Iceland. Also announced, 1-0 Serhiy Sidey will be taking on Jerico MacPhee in his pro debut.
