UFC 267: Blachowicz vs. Teixeira Full Card Betting Guide

Woo-ee! UFC 267 is shaping up to be a banger of a card. The now 14-fight card marks the return to Abu Dhabi, as Jan Blachowicz and Glover Teixeira vie for the light heavyweight strap and Petr Yan and Cory Sandhagen compete for the interim bantamweight title.

The card, scheduled to start at 10:30 a.m. ET Saturday on ESPN+, also features Magomed Ankalaev and Volkan Oezdemir kicking off a six-fight main card at 2 p.m. ET.

Best Bets

Andre Petroski (-235) — Hopefully you got this one when the odds opened at near even, but Petroski still provides value over Hu Yaozong in this one. Yaozong’s last win was in 2016 at heavyweight. Petroski”s power and physicality should outweigh any potential cardio issues, but that element — as well as Yaozong’s relative obscurity — keeps this off any parlays.

Alexander Volkov (-305) — The odds are getting a bit steep for Volkov over Marcin Tybura, but I just don’t see a way a clinch-heavy attack from a smaller fighter is going to trouble the range of Volkov.

Petr Yan (-219) — You probably want to bet Yan after the first or second rounds if you have that option. Cory Sandhagen will have some success early as Yan downloads the gameplan. Sandhagen’s unique style is actually an interesting challenge for the former bantamweight champion. But Yan is so sound defensively, I don’t see the freak knockout coming, and that’s Sandhagen’s best path to victory. I’m also interested in Yan by knockout at +201.

Jan Blachowicz (-297) — The odds are starting to get into pop and popcorn territory, but this is really a great matchup stylistically against Glover Teixeira. Where does Teixeira have the advantage? It’s hard to think of a path to victory for the Brazilian.

Pop and Popcorn Fights

Elizeu Zaleski dos Santos (-233) vs. Benoit Saint-Denis (+190) — If you’re going to bet on this fight at all, it’s probably on the under 2.5. But I’d still advise against that. Newcomers are always hard to predict, especially fighters as talented as Saint-Denis. Zaleski is a very skilled fighter that packs big power. Saint-Denis is excellent on the ground and has a judo game to get it there. It should be a great chess match type of ordeal.

Ricardo Ramos (+143) vs. Zubaira Tukhugov (-171) — I just have no clue where to even start handicapping this fight. It should probably be closer to 50-50 odds, so if you like Ramos, I won’t blame you betting on it. But this is the type of fight I stay away from.

Jingliang Li (+417) vs. Khamzat Chimaev (-578) — This was already a pop and popcorn for me before Chimaev’s weight cut issues. There’s too much uncertainty about Chimaev, but boy, did he look a much bigger fighter in faceoffs.

Underdogs to Consider

Michal Oleksiejczuk (+102) — Not the biggest of underdogs against Shamil Gamzatov, Lord Michal is a heavy-handed puncher with good cardio and strong chin. He leaves something to be desired on the ground, but I’ll lean with the more experienced fighter in this one.

Virna Jandiroba (+134) — Amanda Ribas is benefiting a bit from name value here. Jandiroba is the far more technical fighter on the ground. Her jiu-jitsu is phenomenal and she can work out of the clinch to get opponents to the ground. Ribas has some power, and probably the striking advantage on the feet, but unless you envision Ribas knockout out Jandiroba (I don’t), the bet is on Jandiroba.

Intriguing Props

Lerone Murphy by knockout (+146) — The undefeated Murphy is a heavy favorite over Finland’s Makwan Amirkhani for good reason. Murphy’s technical striking ability and cardio is going to give him a ton of opportunity to finish this fight on the feet. Plus odds on that outcome is great value.

Albert Duraev by submission (+127) — Roman Kopylov might be the bigger and stronger fighter, which makes me a little wary of this prop, but there’s just so much to like about Duraev’s ground game.

Volkan Oezdemir by knockout (+449) — Let’s get this out of the way first: Magomed Ankalaev is probably winning this fight. However, Oezdemir has a clear path to victory: power punching. This prop is too juicy to pass up.

Islam Makhachev inside the distance (+146) — Props to Dan Hooker for taking this fight on short notice, but Islam Makhachev is just far superior in his wrestling. He will get this to the mat early and often, and a finish will come eventually.

Parlay of the Night
