Fight Night: Overeem vs. Sakai Fantasy Breakdown Cheat Sheet
Fantasy Breakdown Post-Fight Evaluation:
While this was a bit of a crazy card with all the last minute cancellations, our strategy still performed pretty well.
For our Stud picks: Brian Kelleher finished his opponent in 39 seconds by submission netting 105 points on FanDuel and 90.5 on DraftKings. Our other pick in Alistair Overeem secured a win by TKO in the 5h round by ground pound. While this outcome came a lot later than we predicted, Overeem performed well on a fantasy basis. With 92 significant strikes, 2 Advances and 3 Takedowns he netted 107 points on DraftKings.
For our Value picks: Andre Muniz won an upset victory with a submission in the first round netting him an impressive 115.4 on FanDuel and 92 on DraftKings. (The highest point per $ ratio on both sites.)
For our Fades: Fabinski was submitted in the first round, earning few points for a single takedown and 5 significant strikes. Unfortunately we were wrong about, Azure. A strong combination of 5 takedowns, 3 defenses, a knockdown and multiple advances netted him an impressive 96.2 points on Fanduel. I think our analysis was soundl; his performance on a fantasy basis feels like an outlier.
Overall we did pretty well. Our values performed well. Our Value pick was the “most efficient” pick of the card. One of our Fades was a “must fade” in order to cash with the other being our single mistake in the form of missed value.
