NEF 36 Adds Cruiserweight Title Fight

New England Fights continues to add to a stacked NEF 36 card by announcing today that the promotion will add the 225-pound cruiserweight division, highlighted by the first title fight in the new weight class between Yorgan De Castro (2-0) and “The Jamaican Shamrock” Ras Hylton (3-1).

De Castro has competed at light heavyweight and heavyweight during his career, with both of his professional wins coming by way of finish at the 205-pound weight class. He’s set to make his return to the promotion, last competing as an amateur at NEF 26 in November of 2016.

Hylton has fought five times for the promotion split between amateur and professional competition, with all five fights ending by finish before the third round. Fighting out of nearby South Portland, and splitting training between First Class MMA and Dragon Fire Martial Arts, this fight marks Hylton’s return to the NEF cage having gone 1-1 with CES earlier this year.

The card will also feature promotional mainstay and Bellator 93 vet Ryan Sanders (17-9) taking on Jacob Bohn (7-5) for the NEF lightweight belt. Bohn will be making his NEF debut and has faced UFC’s Shane Burgos and Fighting Alliance main event winner Matt DeMarcantonio in his four-year professional career.

Exciting prospect Kam Arnold (4-0) will look to remain unbeaten while defending his amateur bantamweight strap against Walter Shea (3-1). Arnold was victorious at NEF 35 in June with a fourth round TKO finish over Nostos MMA’s Killian Murphy.

The promotion will be returning to Aura in Portland for NEF 36, an intimate venue in the heart of downtown. Maritime and New England fight fans be sure to check out the upcoming card!
