UFC vet Thiago Silva (20-7) is stepping in on almost two weeks notice to face former TUF Heavyweights participant James McSweeney (15-16) KSW announced on Monday. McSweeney was set to face former title challenger and Polish fan favourite Michal Andryszak; however, the former was forced out of the bout due to injury.

Silva was set to fight earlier in the summer against Chris Camozzi in the main event of ACB 88, but visa issues forced the Brazilian to withdraw. Typically a light heavyweight, Silva has competed above the 205 lbs limit in the past, with success against former Bellator talent Stav Economou (18-5-1, 1 NC). Worth noting that Silva weighed in at 235.9 lbs while Economou weighed in far above the heavyweight limit at 287.5 lbs.
