Best Bets
JP Buys (-146) — The line continues to move in Bruno Silva’s favor, making the bet on the UFC debutatant all the more attractive. He’s quite adept on the ground and if he can outlast Silva early, he should be the fresher fighter as the bout wears on. He can get a finish by knockout or submission and if the fight goes to the scorecards, he could win there.
Grant Dawson (-199) — Grant Dawson should have a strong power advantage over Leonardo Santos and if he can just survive the early flurry, he should have the better cardio too. There’s a strong chance he gets a finish at some point in this fight and the value here is tremendous on the 16-1 fighter.
Pop and Popcorn Fights
Max Griffin (-210) vs. Song Kenan (+172) — The potential fight of the night is difficult to predict and therefore, I’m staying away. It’s a great fight. Enjoy it.
Adrian Yanez (-225) vs. Gustavo Lopez (+182) — The only thing certain about this fight is that it will be exciting. Adrian Yanez is a talented striker and Gustavo Lopez a more than competent grappler. They both have exciting styles that should lead to a fire fight. The odds should be closer, but not enough so for me to bite on the underdog.
Derek Brunson (+148) vs. Kevin Holland (-178) — Both fighters have a plethora of paths to victory. Kevin Holland is a rightful favorite, but enjoy this main event for what it is: a great matchup of talented fighters.
Underdogs to consider
Jesse Strader (+486) — Should Montel Jackson win? Certainly. Does he win more than 80 percent of the time in this fight? Those are steep odds for a debutant with some of Strader’s skills. There’s a path to victory here for Strader and a near 5/1 underdog is always hard to pass up.
Intriguing Props
Trevin Giles vs. Roman Dolidze O1.5 rounds (-178) — This fight is very difficult to predict, but the best bet is it lasting more than 7.5 minutes. Giles has lasted longer than that in his last eight fights; Dolidze has done so in three of his past four.
Macy Chiasson vs. Marion Renau O2.5 rounds (-219) — I’m frankly stunned by the odds here. I would suspect the odds to be at -300 or -400. Neither fighter is a phenomenal finisher and neither fighter has ever been stopped. This is a steal at these odds.
Gregor Gillespie inside the distance (+125) — If you’re as confident in Gillespie’s return to the Octagon after more than a year off following his brutal knockout loss to Kevin Lee, the best value is for him to win inside the distance. He can win by submission or knockout so hedge your bets here with the inside the distance bet.
Parlay of the Night
Giles/Dolidze O1.5 (-178), Grant Dawson (-199), Chiasson/Reneau O2.5 (-219) — +241
